Great post. I figure it would be hard to motivate yourself while at home. These are great tips thanks.

I tried working from home and just couldn't do it. Too many distractions from the TV, refrigerator, and dog. So I go to the local library everyday. Free wifi, comfortable chairs, and it's quite. I feel like I have a large office.

I get up at 6am, make coffee. Then I turn on the computer. The day has started. It usually ends about 10ish. However, working at home allows me to take breaks to do laundry, water the plants and to clear my head.

I love the silence and distractions such as the television doesn't bother me. Having office banter go on about me is far more distracting.

Since working at my home studio, my dry cleaning bills have fallen to zero.

Biggest plus, leaving a smaller carbon footprint by not driving.

Very useful post, as its extremely important to stay motivated if your interested in being successful working at home. It can be a very rewarding career choice but its not without its disadvantages. Such as loneliness or lack of interaction sometimes I miss that part about my old job. the important thing is to remember why you work from home in the first place though.

Great tips. I especially like the one about taking frequent breaks - which something that most of us don't do who work on our computers all day.

Very useful tips! Time management is especially difficult for most work from home people.
