What an excellent idea and great way to spread holiday cheer! This year with so many needs I think it's cool that Sears is combining advertising with charity. All three packages sound wonderful. WOW Steve! What a great (if it's true) charitable, thoughtful and unlike corporate America thing for Sears to be doing during this awful economic melt-down.
If this is real, SEARS will be at the top of my shopping list, like Starbucks is for all the humanitarian work that they do.

Hey man. I like what I hear from Sears. The only way to change the world is to be the change we want to see right? I'd love to win the 3rd package. I have recently gotten divorced and have very little in my one bedroom apartment. My 3 kids (10, 6, &3) spend multiple nights every week with me.

I am planning on taking my kids on a trip for Christmas but don't have enough money to do both. I'm going to visit my elderly grandmother and spread my father's ashes on my mother's grave. I told my kids that I wasn't going to have the money to do the trip and get Christmas presents for everyone so we put it up for a vote. The kids voted to take the trip! I was surprised and very proud. Now I'm not saying I'm poor and I am very thankful to e able to take my kids on this trip for Christmas. It'd just be nice to be able to have some presents under the tree for em on Christmas morning. Thanks for your consideration.

OK, OK here is the truth, I have been unemployed for over a year, now I’m a poor starving Chinese student and I have been selling my blood to the blood bank to buy food for my Charlie ( see photo ). I’m afraid there is not much blood left. So if I don’t win #3 to sell it on ebay, to pay for his food, I’m going to have to sell Charlie to that Organ Harvesting Institute in Arizona. What a wonderful thing to do for people in hard times like this. I would like to put my name in for #1. I would like to donate it to Shriners hospital for children in Chicago for all the wonderful things they have done not only for my child, but the thousands of other children they have helped. They are always in need of things like this for extended stay patients.

Package #1 is my option.: With our culture family time is the best gift for the holidays. We recently had a young loved one pass away and in my opinion the most healing happened around the game table. We could laugh at getting the latest trivia and HOPE for the last minute win.

So based on this experience we have been placing family game time into the schedule over the latest holiday fad. Take your focus off of things and put them on your loved ones. They are the ones that might not be here for the next holiday.

No Ipod here (sad, I think i'm the only one left I know without one), our dvd player is so old it has a HUGE vcr combo slot...and a home theater system? What's that?? Package #2 is perfect for so many reasons. This is a great idea and I am just like you when it comes to the children. I don't have children of my own either however, I am the neighborhood AUNTIE. I have spent over $1000 this summer (2 months) for groceries - cooking for the children who would otherwise have fast food or just sugar sandwiches. It is never the fault of children for the situation they are in so, I feel we all need to do our part. I grew up lovely and I will do what I can do reproduce that same lovely feeling to the sweeties. Good job on the shopping!

I think this is a great idea. I am impressed with the idea that they tried it with a handfull of bloggers and we will see how many it reaches. I am sure that it is interesting to see the social impact of blogging.

I think package number two just sounds like fun. Gettin jammies and underwear is always useful but never fun. Don't we all need a chance for a Wish Come True in these difficult economic times. I know for me with 5 teenagers, 2 dogs, 1 cat and a hubby, I wouldn't mind a wish come true, but I also know of so many others who could use the same helping wishful hand!
