  • Again ensnared by our own words. Also their is no sieve for stupid on the web. Before you would send a letter, or rant from your cave. Now you can post it online for all the world to see. Its a double edged sword, for raising awareness to jailed protesters in other countries it's great, but for sending out death threats, its just stupid. Very few people realize the consequences of their online words and images, thinking into the future is a rarity and who it impacts.

And a big thank you to director John Woo for the now iconic holding of the gun by the side.
  • This is... I don't even know the right word. People are just not enough mature to use social websites. I don't know that was it a real threat or sinoke stupidity, but I am happy that the guy has been caught in time.
  • The internet is a very tricky place. This one is hard for me cause I see freedom of speech being hindered, but also it could have been a real threat. I wonder if they will get anything on him or if he made threats by name. We will just have to wait and see.
  • Some people just don't know where to draw the line. A good friend of mne received a phonecall recently from a concerned loved one. They were calling my friend to offer condolences on her sons recent death.

Only her son wasn't dead. Someone hacked into her son's myspace account and posed as a friend writing about her son's apparent demise in a horrible accident. they even had gruesome pictures to go with it.

My friend freaked out and was in disbelief. She phoned her son but he didn't answer. For several frightening hours, my friend thought her son (her only child!) was killed in a horrific accident.

I guess that makes me glad that some of these threats are being pursued.
  • Well as I see it, you can't take a threat of gun vioence lightly, ever. Even if it was just posted online, even if it was just a joke.
