Actually Macs are for closers. A bonus system motivates people more than the fear of being fired.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

This is true. The best link biating and marketing are always well disguised wether it is via email, pr or whatever other medium.

Oh and yes Al Pacino was better but Jack Lemmons character had the most depth.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

Quite frankly I think Jeff hit it right on the head. Some of his tips are helpful, his other tips are just foolish nonsense though. Firing people that aren't "workaholics" is absurd. If they do their job to a certain standard, there is no reason they should be fired. However, the idea about buying their employees a computer if they are willing to work an extra hour at home is a really good idea.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

I read Jason Calacanis' post about starting up, and found it slightly ridiculous. While some of the tips were decent, others will add additional costs. For example, "Buy macs" is outrageous as a lot of programs won't work on it, and they have a higher initial cost. His other tips are pretty valid though, such as the ones to increase the amount of the work produced by your workers though.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

Not sure how much I like Clacanis, he seems good to read with all his posts and all but has an off attitude. Seems like he has a great idea here and it'll work, I really do like unique sites - Hope to see how it comes out. It could do well or be a failure.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

I read the History of blogging article, and it was really neat.

Re: Jason Calacanis, I Salute You

"it’s classic Calacanis."
