  • I think we'll continue to see more electric and hybrids on the road as the price of gas continues its inevitable climb upward. While many will feel the pain at the pump for some time to come, the biggest issue on getting an electric/hybrid car is cost. The Toyota Camry Hybrid, for example (link: http://www.toyotacamryhybrid.net), costs about 22,680 - $22,680. This is beyond the range of the average car-owner, and until there are more affordable versions on the road, they'll continue to passed over for traditional compacts.
  • It actually is scary for me to be considering new technologies today. The options are engine conversions, electric car, hybrid cars or just biking around more. The thing is that the resources for the new technology is not as accessible as gasoline on every gasoline station. This includes the fuel, the mechanic, the parts and etc.
  • These cars cost a fortune. I just googled one which was getting sold at 80,000$ !! I wouldn't be expected to be riding one anytime soon if the prices will stay that high.. Thanks for the informative post :)
  • With the increasing fuel prices problem, I think that the future of electric cars is nearing. Electric and hybrid maybe. Well, compared to hybrids, I am more comfortable having electric cars or riding in them as a form of public transportation. I think a lot of countries are now using electric trains or trams or something for the tourists... seems a good idea
  • european cars are also into creating electric cars, but let's see who's electric cars will stand out from the rest. but other than that it was a great idea to create and manufacture cars such as these.
