I think the best thing you can -try- to do is work within their parameters. Most people are willing to accept some kinds of ads as long as it doesn't feel like advertising. See if you can bring them something valuable alongside the ads (deals, coupons, bonuses).

It's hard going but it might be more effective than standard banners.

Nice thoughts - thanks for sharing. I come from germany, over here its quite different. As soon as you have a single ad on your page, the users start to moan and complain about sellout -> eat that! How can you make many that way... Well, i think specialized ad networks is the best possibillity, but meeting their quality standards often not that easy :(

I agree, there's so many different ways of making money online but finding the best is never easy and mostly costly to boot and always something you can find on google for free! I've started a blog myself collecting all the best money making ideas and loopholes for everyone to have themselves for free, take a look, there's going to be plenty on there over time!(link in sig!) Love what you're doing on this site by the way, very good, informative information for people that want to take some action with their lives and make something of themselves, I'll certainly be coming back regular!

One of two things.

1. Either you have had the good fortune of never running into a entrepreneur relying solely on AdWords and a Yahoo! buyout as an exit strategy.

2. You happen to actually -have- a revenue model, so the thought of not having one seems ridiculous to you.

(I'm going to avoid the hidden "Trolling for the sake of Trolling" option.)

In the first case, trust me -- they are out there. This is directed towards them, if it isn't relevant, feel free to move along.

In the second case, it's good to realize that just because you think something if common sense, doesn't mean that it is. Intuition is usually won by experience, once you have it you tend to forget that you ever didn't.

One way or another, the extended metaphor was decent. I'm glad you took time to share.
