How To Split An Atom: Filter Messages In Your Gmail Account [Gmail]

I am surprised that more people don't use gmail. It is, arguably, the best free email service available and is very powerful. I don't really like the targeted ads in the webmail interface, because it is obvious they are based off of my emails, but usually I use Thunderbird so it doesn't matter.

Yea, combined with Firefox (for extensions), Gmail is probably one of the more versatile email clients out there.

It also doesn't allow you to receive emails with executable programs (which students and software developers like me do all the time) and it filters a lot of email that is not spam. I can't live with it unfortunately :(

Thanks for the tip on using + to sign up for services - I knew about that but rarely used as it is not very difficult to filter the messages anyway using filters on Gmail. But having the opportunity to see who was selling my email is definitely excellent so thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for sharing this. I think use a mail client will do this job better than Gmail. But I like the function forwarding email of Gmail.
