I just hope everyone calms down just a bit.

Re: Does Internet Fame Convert?

Easy there, Spalding. I wasn't replying to your thread if you could take note of that. I wasn't calling you stupid--it was pointed again at the foolish kid who wrote the other response. I don't want to embrace American politics unless someone like Ron Paul is running. If he doesn't make it through the primaries, which he probably won't (cause republicans are almost as stupid as liberals), i'm not voting. don't assume things buddy.

Re: Does Internet Fame Convert?

Honestly I expected a bit better than that, but I'll take that under consideration.

I do wonder whether it was mentioning Ron Paul without glowing praise that makes me "stupid," or simply raising a point that doesn't fall completely inline with other Ron Paul disciples/critics?

Freedom, at the end of the day, is what Dr. Paul is about. Yet this kind of Dead Agenting seems to fly in the face of the politics that you want to embrace.

Either way, pleasant travels and the next few months should be an interesting ride.

Re: Does Internet Fame Convert?

Whether powered by people or powered by a bot-net as some contend, the net result is the same. He has received a disproportionate amount of support from Social Media compared to other candidates online.

Which means that he has used (or abused) the system quite well.

My biggest problem with this whole debate is the fact that both sides of the argument get so red in the face over it.

I do agree about the resentment part, but lets not get so caught up in that that we lose track of the interesting issues that a campaign of this style raises.

Re: Does Internet Fame Convert?

you are stupid.

Re: Does Internet Fame Convert?

Do your research. He won 10% of the vote at the Iowa caucus. Beat Guliani. This is all fake, phoney, a sham, a scam, every kind of hoax it can be. The whole thing is powered by one mid-30's Las Vegas tech-investment millionaire name of Matt Abar, who has funded a bunch of third-world surfers for hire to rig social news and jam polls - see the many kinds of fraud with evidence here: http://www.malagent.com/?p=608. In the real world, the main reaction to Ron Paul is resentment and a backlash against the attempt to hijack an election.

Really, the best medicine? Ignore him, and ignore the whole thing. We saw the same thing happen with Dean and Perot before, this is just this season's nutty fruitcake.
