Maggy Young · 1 year agoI'd say a last resort of banning should be in place for those you defined as using their accounts primarily for abuse, ie. the nutheads whose main or only intention is to be a wrecker - becaus you're always going to get some of those somewhere at some time. For the rest, users should be allowed to protect themselves with blocking tools. Arguments & disagreements are one thing, but users don't want to find some idiot has made them a target & gets satisfaction from hurling unreasonable abuse at them, continuously upsetting them from a distance, & there is nothing that can be done about it. Web stalking should be recognised as being a real offence as it belatedly has been in real life.
