Google changed Adsense to only allow the click though when the user click on title or url instead of the ad block.  Fewer places to click = fewer clicks = less revenue. I still see advertisers paying upwards of 70$ a click.  People will buy, hell my girlfriend just bought herself a Dolce and Gabanna watch just because she thought it was cute.  It  all deals with picking your niche and marketing it.
