How To Split An Atom: 5 Steps To Becoming More Productive This Afternoon

Some people should just forget about the last step. I know I should. I'm using it too much in comparison to others :)

This has been the best approach since the beginning of time. All the modern gadgets, PDAs, smart phones, don't help with the simple written list. Interesting how in America it's non-stop all day, but in much of the rest of the world (with the exception of Japan) takes the afternoon siesta to recharge. I hope one day this becomes our work ethic; to stop and enjoy life and not burn out so young.

I agree with you 100% here Peter! I have all the electronic schedules, calendars and notifications configured to remind me of things that I have to do but I have found that the easiest way to actually complete tasks is to have them all written down on a piece of paper and striking them out when completed. I feel gorgeous when I have nothing left on the daily list in the evening :)

i have 3 partners and each don't even know what to do everyday

given the task to everyone, it's more productive

    Hi Steve

The first tip definitely works for me.

My energy tends to be quite scattered – I always feel like I’m hopping from one task to the other and still not getting much done. So I recently started writing down a list of what needs to be done that day. It’s such a simple idea, but it works! I find it helps keep me focused. It also means I can look back and see what I’ve achieved over the day; that feels great too!

take care - tand hanks for the other tips.

For implementing GTD you might try out this web-based application:

    Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.

As with the last update, now Gtdagenda has full Someday/Maybe functionality, you can easily move your tasks and projects between "Active", "Someday/Maybe" and "Archive". This will clear your mind, and will boost your productivity.

    Hope you like it.
