Great work there. We laugh now about some of the 'new things' back then. But it's really remarkable I think to see how fast we're not developing. It's certainly a peoples planet now. And communication has been a key to that I feel.

Re: 26 Key Innovations Of The Last 20 Years

Why not mention the person who started the ipod: Tony Fadell. It's only fair.

Here's the only link that I know of that talks about the true founder of the ipod:
http://www.engin.umich.edu/alumni/engineer/04SS...

Apple for some reason only provides this type of info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Fadell

Re: 26 Key Innovations Of The Last 20 Years

Cell phones are from before 1988.

Re: 26 Key Innovations Of The Last 20 Years

Umm....Cell phones?

Re: 26 Key Innovations Of The Last 20 Years

Not sure what your getting at. It started out as a non-commercial effort, a hobby. There are several such projects even now: http://aplawrence.com/Unixart/hobbyos.html . No one within the linux kernel project itself really went out of their way to "market" linux. In fact, you could say it was created as a refuge to get away from marketing/MBA-tards.

Re: 26 Key Innovations Of The Last 20 Years

I didn't realize Linux came out 1 year after windows 3.0. Wow, talk about what a difference marketing can make. Comparing the marketing efforts of those two should be taught in every basic marketing class in the world.
