Disabling system restore will also help, also turn off screen sever.
In system properties>advance menu> setting
set system for best performance.

Only problem I see here is that any of these suggestions can be done by changing settings on your windows program, none of these programs are needed to achieve this... You want to reduce what is on your computer, not add a bunch of new junk that's just going to take up more space... just say'n!
